I am alive. After the longest break in the history of this photoblog, I am back... with yet another photo taken in England from the front room of the house we stayed in, and its view out over the ocean. And in front of the window, this model boat, left there to stare out at a sea it can only dream of sailing.
Full disclosure: About 20 minutes after I posted the original image, I did a bit of a touch up with one aspect that was bugging me. So if you saw it in its original form and wonder if something has changed, you'd be right.

Wonderful framing and a very balanced composition! Claus Petersen @ July 7, 2009
What a lovely story-telling image. Your comments on the boat are just so spot on. Great photograph Jim! And welcome back! What makes you think you can take such long breaks?! We have come to expect more from you now ;-) Thomas Folke Andersen @ July 8, 2009
Welcome back. Love the soft color..the symmetry. Looks like a wonderful place. Marcie @ July 8, 2009
You had a really wonderful view here. That is such an inviting space. Lovely shot. Good to see you back. Laurie @ July 8, 2009
Glad to see you have also came back and started posting. I really like the isolation you have in this photo.
Thanks for the wonderful C&C on my "Azure" photo as I also did try to crop a few times but never came out with anything better. Brian Chen @ July 8, 2009
Very nice shot here, i like the low lighting and vignette created. Liang @ July 8, 2009
The inclusion of the curtains is great, and I love your title too! Also the light coming through the ship's sails is excellent. I wonder where this is? one way photo / Mark @ July 9, 2009
You're back! A while ago I started a project of curtians and windows i.e taking photos of curtains and windows from the inside looking out- I'm a little jealous of this one to be honest- the boat with the distant sea and the glass barrier speaks volumes. Its like a prisoner behind UPVC. The tidiness and uncluttered room mirrors the minimal view. Yup, gets my vote. rhys @ July 9, 2009
A lovely and poetric image!! love the symmetry of the composition. Beautiful! Giovanni @ July 11, 2009
Ok, second chance. I've already tried to comment on this one, but was distracted somehow and never forgot about it. Sorry.
It's absolutely gorgious! Love the symmetry, the ship with the ocean view. Just great! Asgardr @ July 13, 2009
Great view and nice natural framing,
nice seen, nice done ! Quark @ February 22, 2010
I like the flat soft colors and the vignette create. Olaf @ March 26, 2011
