Our daughter Ella has recently been captivated with the idea of vänner ("friends" in Swedish). Any two like things should be put together and called friends. So far that extends to everything from meatballs to shampoo bottles. These two "friends" have part of her life since the very start of hers two and a half years ago. But today is a hard day. Today Ella's going to have to learn about loss. Last night Nickie, the little Tibetan spaniel on the left, had to be put down at the age of 11. I had not planned on putting this photo on the blog, but it seemed like a fitting tribute to this feisty, headstrong little dog and her surviving vän Hedwig.
So..so...so very sweet. Love how you captured the light..and the b&w processing. Marcie @ September 22, 2008
Adorable, I really like the B&W processing it enhances the differences between the friends. Frida @ September 22, 2008
Loving and lovely portrait of these two companions! (lovely B&W too) daina @ September 22, 2008
So sad. The image really suits the story, classy B&W and the dogs don't look to happy either, as if they knew what was coming. Ásgarðr @ September 24, 2008
God, I'm such a sap for dogs. >.< The story made me tear up, and made the picture all that much more adorable. And I'm so sorry for the loss of Nickie. Jen @ October 1, 2008
