Before I moved to the coast of Sweden, I had never heard of the concept of "old seas". But fisherman's lore has is that it's the day after the storm that is the roughest at sea. The winds this day made even the mostly protected water near the shore choppy, with the "old sea" beyond the islands.

Wow, the tones and the contrast in this image is really beautiful.

I agree, very beautiful tones in this image and in particular in the water. The vignetting in each top corner is perhaps slightly heavy (as much as I don't mind some creative vignetting), but this is of course a matter of personal taste. Overall great image! Thomas Folke Andersen @ May 19, 2008
this is beautifull. i love the yellowed lighting along with the lense vignette. very nice. dillonpic @ May 19, 2008
Beautifully dramatic. Fantastic photo. Jay @ May 20, 2008
Yes, the tones are great on the water, giving it lots of texture and movement. I also like how the rocks emerge from the water and yet echo the texture of the water.
I would have liked to see more details in the sky as I find it a bit too bright and distracting from the rest of the image. Maybe a neutral density filter would have helped regain some details in the sky without affecting the water. sophie Pasquet @ May 23, 2008
