Nothing is ever easy. We had the opportunity to borrow a small boat for the summer and here it is into August and I just got the chance to take it out for the first time yesterday—and I still haven't got everything working. An attempt to motor around the harbour turned into a row when the battery for the electric motor turned out to be useless. Still, there is something to be said for being out on the water. The familiarity of our little village is transformed from seeing it from a totally different perspective. And islands just off the coast reveal features (and houses like this one) I had no idea were even there.

I wish I were lucky to see such beauties with my own eyes. Preetam @ August 8, 2009
This one is a perfect essay about summer evenings and their very particular melancholy mood. This one is great, Jim. Perfect frame & amazing light. The calm is stunning & the landscape is mindblowing. I see myself sitting on that boat & humming a tune all to myself. All to myself not to disturb this perfect quite moment. What a beautiful picture! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch. Fritsch @ August 10, 2009
I do like the mood here. Love the warm tones in the sky. Laurie @ August 11, 2009
