Okay, the pace is still slow around here. It's the lazy days of summer. (Emphasis on lazy.)
I've always kind of liked photos of animals that bring a sort of portrait feel to them. While I don't think the execution of this is as good as it could be—oh, to have chosen a different aperture and have a bit more depth of field when I took this shot—it's a style I think I might try to play with a bit more.

Great portrait with wonderful toning. It seems somehow to smile. Reiner @ July 17, 2009
Hi Jim, thanks for still returning to my site! Just browsed your animal series; very nice and as always when I look at your photos, I realize there´s a lot more to be learned when it comes to composition... Great work! /Peter Peter Mannfolk @ July 21, 2009
I actually like the low dof...
and I also like the camel silhouette! sophie @ July 27, 2009
Imperfect? To me it's perfect as it is! PiXistenz @ July 29, 2009
Well, I like this. I've made a few attempts at livestock portraits in the past and it's a real pain. They're always a bit skittish when you first point the "big eye" at them, and then they want to press their nose onto the lens! I like the PoV and DoF on this one. Turnbill @ August 6, 2009
