The first morning going to down the beach at Overstrand, England, there were two old tractors sitting about halfway to the water with empty trailers behind them. It was only later in the day, when the tide was higher, that I figured out these were the driving end of "portable docks" for local fisherman who would just back their boats down to the water on the trailer and launch into the water. When they were done, they'd do the same in reverse and drive off the beach before the tide rose. The tractors themselves had sort of a Frankenstein's monster look to them, weathered through years of use, but apparently keep chugging along for their short, but vital, daily trips.

we have lots of these along the North East Coast too, they are true workhorses, how they keep going I have no idea! They are incredibly photogenic though. rhys @ May 29, 2009
Nice perspective. Interesting method to launch a boat. Laurie @ May 29, 2009
Indeed they look scaring like some Frankenstein moster. And did I already tell you, that your sand captures are simply great. I think I can smell the beach & the sea.
Rhys is right: They look like true workhorses. Which reminds me that I bought a guitar years ago they call the workhorse.
All the best & safe travels, Fritsch. Fritsch @ May 29, 2009

Lovely!
I have some old tractors in my area, but I couldn't come up with a shot anything like this.
Wow. Great shot. Love the lines in the sand. Jesse Moscoe @ June 3, 2009
Great image! I love the enhanced detail a lot (probably you used HDR tone mapping techniques, though an ugly halo around the left wheel is visible). Composition is very good. LightningPaul @ June 7, 2009
