Something different today. I took this picture a few weeks ago, but then I handed off the RAW file to Rhys Baker over at the recently upgraded and improved It's All Around You photoblog. At the same time, he sent me several images to work with, which are being posted over at his site this week. So the finished product you see here is ultimately an artistic collaboration. If you like (or loathe) the composition, that's me. The processing is all Rhys. There will be another one tomorrow.
If anyone else wants to try a similar swap of RAW files, I'd love to keep playing with this idea. I've found that even on my own, I often end up with several different versions of the same image in playing with processing. But seeing how another artist/photographer tackles an image that is not even their own is really interesting to me. Any serious offers will be considered and most likely accepted.
Finally, some housekeeping. As this post goes live, I should be on my way to England for a quick four day getaway with the family to meet some friends at the Norfolk seaside. In the rain. So if I am even worse about replying to people's comments, that is my excuse. But I hope it means a fresh batch of photos from a different setting in the coming weeks, once I return.

Ok, I'll kick off then... putting the processing aside, I really like this image. The scenery is amazing, I guess I can relate as we take our little boy to the coast a lot and I can just see him running up and down on this beach too. The image itself is brilliant, as for the processing, well... rhys @ May 18, 2009
The big sea & the little Ella. A brilliant picture Jim. I like the wide open space on the one hand and the way she looks down to the beach & her feet. The processing by Rhys is simply great.
Thanks for letting us be part of this adventure & I'm looking forward to the next one. Fo this I promise to show up regularly and not following anonymous any more. All the best & safe travels, Fritsch. Fritsch @ May 18, 2009
