Second last day in the first year of 365,000 words and I wanted to return to a subject matter that I have been fortunate enough to visit and photograph a few times at various points in my life: deserts and sand dunes. While this is delving into the archives a bit (enough that this is a scan from a negative), I wanted to get another sand dune in. This is from one of the most impressive collections of dunes—among the world's highest—near Sossusvlei, Namibia.
Utterly beautifull ... excellent work Jim. Krims@nline.be @ March 30, 2009
Exceptional work. This looks like something straight out of national geographic. Brian Chen @ April 1, 2009
cool, very very cool. The patterns and the blue sky are my favorite. Lunamania @ April 3, 2009
Jim, the composition is really very good. Too bad about the noise in the sky, otherwise this image would have been perfect. PIXistenz @ April 16, 2009
Beautiful shot.. I've seen the Sahara dunes just once, in Tunisia.. but it was amazing, an ocean of sand.. ReallyJapan @ April 17, 2009
The ripples are really nice, but to be honest I am more interested in the dunes in the background. Did you get the opportunity to get closer to those? The shadow/sun areas play in the dunes are beautiful! Morten @ April 26, 2009
Thanks for visiting. I really appreciate your support and comments!
