While Smögen is largely known for its boardwalk lined with the little shops and fisherman sheds (seen a few days ago here), there is a part of the island that is what I would describe as Smögen's back country (which you can see here). And this staircase is takes you from one world into the other.

I'm curious, what's behind this wall? Claus Petersen @ February 24, 2009
This is a beautiful place.
It reminds me a little of some areas along the Jersey shore where there is a sea wall between the town and the ocean and there are stairs similar to these across the street from almost every home on the street for the residents to have access to the beach. There are public ones every couple of blocks as well. Laurie @ February 24, 2009
i like any shot like this, it has an air of mystery, an uncertain feel. I like the grain too. RHYS @ February 25, 2009
I think this is a tone mapped HDR file coming from one RAW. The result is nice though very noisy which feels unusual for such shots in bright sun light. LightningPaul @ February 26, 2009
When I was growing up, Smögen's Wild Country was my favourite ride at Canada's Wonderland! David Barry @ March 28, 2009
