Life is busy at the moment and my brother is visiting from Canada, so I am having to dip into the archives a bit. This was from an overnight hike on the Soteleden, a 60 km trail that winds through much of the region. The sun was getting lower and thoughts of where to stop for the night were starting to settle in. (That spot was documented a few months ago here.)

I love the sense of movement in this picture. It feels like I'm about to step right into the scene, walk forward through the trees and into the sunlight. Speaking of light, it's absolutely gorgeous.
Really nice - Love those shadows! Ian @ August 26, 2008
A mysterious yet hopeful shot...a variation on the "light at the end of the tunnel" theme. Nice work. Jim @ August 26, 2008

I know how difficult it is to recreate the feeling you get in the woods :) This is a great try! I like it!
P.S.: Definitely a vote at the blog awards :-) Marco Tajé @ August 27, 2008

Hi Jim,
I think that's where I stopped last time...
There is a great perspective and you've managed to simplify the scene with the shadows continuing the tree lines. I wonder if I would not like a bit more contrasts... sophie @ March 20, 2009
