From a walk in the woods I sometimes take with the dog. It's off the beaten path in the most literal sense and involves trekking through a few fields, scrambling over rocks and a few hills. And then there's this part that I always forget about, with a fence that might be electric, but I've never been brave enough to truly test it it's not. When I processed the photo like this, my wife thought looked like something from the frontlines of WWI.

Gorgeous angle and light. Like how the photo fades into bright white in the background. Josef Renklint @ July 19, 2008
I agree with your wife, it gives off a sense of age, like somthing out of WWI. And please don't test out the fence, I want to continue enjoying your photos for some time! :-P Cool Shot. Ryan @ July 19, 2008
Beautiful shot, make me want to climb it myself and find out what over that. Brian @ July 19, 2008
I Like it, yes it does have an old-time feel. The slightly blown highlights work well to suggest a time past.
Watch out for trench foot! rhys @ July 19, 2008
i like the perspective and the soft and bright lights. nice b/w leibowitz @ July 19, 2008
It does feel like an old-time war movie scene. Love how you've framed it and captured the light. Marcie @ July 19, 2008
A good example of how we try to lay claim to our property. It's not much of a fence, but it's intent is clear. Jim @ July 19, 2008
Your wife's right. It does look like a WWI frontline. It's a great capture. Ásgarðr @ July 19, 2008
Definitely has the feeling of a war zone. Like out of an old WWII movie. desolate | metropolis @ July 21, 2008
